I know your shitposting, but people actually think this is a bad thing.
A Five guys cheese burger(which is two patties btw) with toppings like OP pic is about 7$ or 8$. Mcdonalds burgers range from 1$-7$, So unless you're getting 1$ burgers from mcdonalds, the price isn't that different. Fries cost more than mcdonalds but you get 2x as much.

Either way, even if five guys is more expensive, they're using better ingredients. For anyone who hasn't worked there, they don't have freezers, they have coolers, the meat isn't frozen like mcdonalds it gets shipments everyday, meaning not only is the meat bigger, it's fresher, and is just generally better tasting and better meat quality. The fries are fresh cut, mcdonalds comes already factory processed. The reason five guys opens at the time it does is because they take maybe 2-4 hours to prepare everything everyday, including fresh potatos and meat coming in.

I'm not trying to say five guys is the best burger you can get, but it's 100x better than the slop you can get at mcdonalds.

I use my credit card for major purchases like they are supposed to be used for. $100+ dollar restaurant meals, hotel reservations and plane tickets. Credit cards are not supposed to be used for candy bars and hamburgers. I don't need a warranty on a pack of gum. My concierge service is wasted on a sandwich. Companies are making a killing on people by convincing the consumer that they should do all of their spending by credit card so they can collect their measly 1 or 2 percent cash back rewards that are going to pale in comparison to the interest that the bank is going to collect from them because people treat their cards as a separate source of income the first month, and end up carrying a balance month to month while only paying it down just enough to continue the frivolous shit cycle. They would be better served taking their cards, charging a subscription to it on the 1st, auto paying that on the 5th and locking the card up and using cash for everyday items. The money you save can be put into a high interest savings account that will get you a much better yield than any cash back that a credit card will offer. Once your credit is good enough, get an actual bank issued Visa and and an AMEX for major purchase use. Never use a card that is offered to you by mail. You would be amazed at how much money this system saves and how awesome your credit will become when using it.

What the fuck is all this projection about "cards offered by mail" and "warranty on a pack of gum"? $2 bank fee for paying by card? Annual fees? I'm seriously struggling to picture what kind of crazy background you have to come up with this kind of thinking. I've got 2 cards, neither of which has a fee, my credit score is 780, and I've never once paid a "bank fee" on a purchase other than minimal foreign transaction fees where you may have a point but almost all of my international travel goes on my work credit card anyway.

You're that asshole who holes up the line counting out pennies, aren't you? Kill yourself.

>> No.11529202

>>11529186
Yeah I've got close to a 780 myself, maybe they have welfare credit cards or those cards you get when your credit is garbage and you're trying to get your rating up. There's something about walking around without cash though that is kind of unsettling, I prefer to keep a few hundred on me for emergencies, even though I've never needed it

>> No.11529225

>>11529202
The thing is those "cards offered by mail" aren't even real cards, it's just a dummy card to get you to open the envelope, you still have to apply, same as if you didn't get a card by mail. I bet that guy thinks those fake checks that come in the junk mail are real checks too.

I'll carry $100-200 if I'm riding my bike out in the middle of nowhere, if I'm traveling outside a major city I'll carry $300-400 (or foreign currency equivalent) from simple paranoia because I have a knack for tripping my card company's security mode where all my cards go on lockdown because they didn't get the memo that I would be abroad, but for day to day shit, it's plastic for everything.

It's a pretty clumsy reference considering there is an actual social credit system here, and it is called social media

The modern US credit reporting system was actually designed specifically because the first iteration was deemed excessively Orwellian, having a high credit score has absolutely nothing to do with your political views or how many "likes" you got

On the other hand today's zoomers can't even get an entry level job without having their social media accounts run through an AI black box that spits out scores for things like "empathy", "hostility", and so on
