Unlikely since the recall affects conventionally grown monoculture lettuce which means the soil is simply an anchor and means of transmitting petrochemical synthetic fertilizers to the plant. Any number of modes of contamination could be at work but most likely is occuring in storage or transport perhaps with fouled misting pipes to keep it from wilting since it's so widespread.
