The rotisserie chickens are a loss leader so buy one every trip. Use the breasts in salads or with pasta. Broil the wings, legs and thighs in the oven with some old bay seasoning. Freeze the carcass and make stock once you have 3 or 4 saved up. Amazing value. Easily 5-6 meals worth of food for ~$5

$5 rotisserie chicken - see above post about usefulness of that.
Old fashioned carving ham - easily enough to cut into quarters and freeze so that's like two months worth of ham.
Two pack of thick cut bacon (Hemplers, I think. Don't get the 4 pack of Kirkland Signature it's paper thin and pretty disppointing.
80oz jar of Adam's natural peanut butter for $8.99
10lbs box of Quaker oats
Case of canned diced tomatoes
Case of canned tomato paste
Either an 8 pack of spaghetti or the variety pasta pack
The No-Salt seasoning mix (really easy way to punch up soups & sauces)
Big ass jar of dried tomatoes
Any kind of cooking oil
Ancient grains crackers (they don't always have these, though)
Seaweed Snacks!!!! (great for soups, stocks or just to munch on)
Non-/ck/
Small electronics
Tires
Socks & t-shirts
$100 sheepskin rug

This, they are excellent. Not only are they the best priced rotisserie chicken out there (as far as I'm aware) they're the most delicious.

Stocking up on non-perishables is always a good idea. Their prices for things like sardines, olives, canned foods, etc. are really good. For fresher stuff eggs and some fruits (bananas mostly) are really well priced.

>> No.11449527

Almost nothing at Costco is cheaper than at a normal grocery store. You just have to compairson shop everything.

I get peanuts and fancy brand spring water. Uh... chickens and that's about it. Some of their shit is like 50% more then retail and you have to buy it in bulk. It's shit.

Costco's removal of the $1.50 Polish hotdog, and its replacement with an Acai Bowl, is the clearest proof possible of the global conspiracy against virility.

To wit.

The hotdog. A firm, proud shaft of meat. It embodies the phallus, Priapus in his domain. Served with onions, the food of men.

Its day is done. Costco, at the behest of sinister forces, withdraws the meaty shaft. A symbolic emasculation of the food court, Priapic, bun-piercing frank deceased.

Its replacement? The acai bowl. A mons of yeasty oats and sickly fruit served in a yonic vessel.

This is the truth of it. The food court, formative, masculine bonding zone of the shopping ritual, unmanned by the withdrawal of the proffered meatshaft in lieu of the yonic yeast offering. An unmanned society is weak in war.

The food court menu is a little different in different regions of the country. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see that Costco on the east coast has (actually quite good) Italian sausages. I was even more surprised when I recently walked into a Costco in Virginia and found that they had (again, quite good) chili there. But you still just can’t go wrong with a hot dog and a soda with unlimited refills for $1.50

Oh plz, the stuff you get at Costco for half the price as anywhere else more than justifies what you pay for the membership. I can think of multiple items where any single one of them I'd pay more for in the run of a year somewhere else than Costco prices + membership. >>11449527 is right though, you have to comparison shop. Costco is worth the $50 to me because I live in Alaska and it's a 60 mile round trip to the nearest Safeway. So making a few big trips to Costco rather than going to Fred Meyer or Safeway once a week saves me a lot of time and gas.
Also Costco is objectively the cheapest grocery place in Alaska because their prices are fixed whereas other chain groceries have to raise their prices to compensate for the shipping costs.
Fuck, Costco is so vital to Alaska they actually supply other grocery stores in the state. There's a local chain called 3 Bears that literally just resells Costco brand stuff at a mark up.
