I've been with my wife for 10 years now. We met in high school, and I got her pregnant. She is and always has been a lazy person and a shit cook. I wouldn't even mind eating shit food if she at least made it on time. But she rarely did.

We'd get into screaming arguments constantly about how lazy and worthless she was. I felt like an asshole for it, but goddamn she was a real piece of work. The only reason I dealt with all this was for the kids, and also because the sex is great.

But one night, I got fed up. Not only did she get drunk, neglect the kids, and made me top Ramen for dinner, but she decided to give me attitude too. She was being real fucking bitchy. So I told my grandparents to keep an eye on the kids and told my wife we were going to go out and have dinner together. I drove maybe 3 blocks to a quiet area (we live in Oregon, it's not hard to find a quiet field) and I got out of the car, went around like I was going to open her door for her and let her out, and I just beat the shit out of her while she was still seatbelted. After a few punches, I asked her if she wanted to go back to her parents. She started screaming and yelling and said yes, so I beat the shit out of her again. Then I asked her what she wanted to do. She finally got smart and said she wanted to go home. So I took her home and dared her to start trouble. I even handed her my cellphone and dialed her mom's number on the drive home. I made her talk to her mom, while daring her to fucking say something.

Before that incident, I had never laid a hand on her. But I had always threatened it. I told her "one of these days, if you don't straighten up, I'm going to lay hands on you."

All my meals have been on time, and she just recently tried to make a meatloaf. It was mediocre, but I was just thrilled that she tried.

I don't understand how people can "not cook". I'm not a chef and I don't have recipes memorized, but I can cook anything because I can read. Desserts, roasts, full 6 course meals? It's all online and even an idiot should be able to follow simple instructions.

She's Russian, and her mother hates cooking, so she never taught her. A lot of russian cuisine is pretty dire, desu. Nearly every recipe has mayonnaise and peas in it...

Usually, when someone's a "bad cook" it just means that they're too stubborn to admit that they fucked something up, they're lazy idiots who skip steps, or they have some major dysfunction in their sense of smell/taste.

My ex-wife was OK at certain things, but for the most part was not great overall. I typically did the cooking the majority of the time.

My current GF can't really cook at all and I have been showing her how to (With minimal luck).

The only people who have an excuse at being bad at cooking are people who have a diminished sense of smell or taste, and even then that can be overcome. "I'm bad at cooking" is a red flag that means someone cant take criticism so they just outright refuse to learn and would just rather have an excuse for why their cooking sucks.

Every time my wife tries to cook, she ends up crying and giving up halfway through.

If I try to jump in and help, she freaks out and says I'm being condescending and won't let her try it on her own. If I leave her to her own devices, then I have to deal with the emotional fallout of her having to confront how retarded she is. Either way, it ends up with her storming out of the room and intentionally leaving everything to burn.

The last time she cooked something even slightly involved, she tried to make jamabalya and ended up adding an entire jar of a spice/salt mix, when only a tablespoon was called for. I had to eat it anyway and pretend that it was okay.

More recently, she attempted to make a broccoli pasta. The broccoli and garlic came out black and were swimming in oil over undercooked pasta. Again, I had to eat it just to spare her feelings. She's a fucking mongoloid retard.

If it's not something I've prepared, she just eats fast food. She can't even be bothered to reheat her own leftovers or microwave something for herself. It's a fucking issue.

But then again, I'm no picnic either :) I just happen to not be retarded in the kitchen. She still has the nerve to complain about my cooking if it isn't to her liking. C'est la vie

I don't know a single woman that can cook. All the men in my family are the cooks of the house and when my mom or grandmother decide to cook, it's always something canned or just not good at all.

Not married, but my gf and I will cook at each others apartments (both at the same uni).
She always buys shit ingredients because she just buys everything at Wal-Mart instead of hunting for decently priced quality ingredients at meat shops and farmers markets. I tell her that she fights an uphill battle when cooking because of this, but she always uses the poor college student excuse.
