What McDonalds menu items are only available in your country? Are they any good?

Here in Minnesota, we have the McHotDish. It's a chicken breast, grilled, then covered with Campbell's cream of mushroom soup. They add a few tots and serve it up. It's usually only available in the winter, and boy, does it taste good.

.
No it doesn't.

This is all false, but let's be honest, it sounds really good.

McMelt: A patty, creamy """cheddar""", whole wheat bun and grilled onions with shoyu.

Banana pie: identical to the apple pie, but with bananas. Neither one have those strange risks on top of them that you got in america.

Pão de queijo: Pão de queijo.

Many McFlurries with local candy brands.

Omaltine milkshake and Mcflurry: Mcdonalds recently bought the permission to make omaltine milkshake with the brand name "Ovomaltine", something that was an exclusivity of another fast food chain for over 40 years. Brazil __loves__ Omaltine.

The Ovomaltine we have in Brazil is exclusive for the country too. Ours is crunchy. This was a production error in a very large batch back in the day. They tried selling it as a limited edition. Nowadays they don't even sell the normal kind anymore.

The 'mexican' portion of the Mcmenu sucks, the beans on the molletes are really bad and the eggs are pure agony. It's what I imagine a breakfast at a fucking taco bell would look like, i hope we never get one of those abominations down here.

I still eat at Mc constantly because of the mcmuffin and because I'm a fat fuck. Also, they give me a large OJ instead for less than the equivalent of 25 cents of a burgerdollar.

North of china here
We have strawberry pies at the moment as a special, banana pies from time to time and pineapple pies most of the time.
Only had the pineapple one myself but I like it.
There are special burgers all the time but they're never anything 'chinese', they're stuff like a long McChicken with different salad, or there's a long beef & deep fried prawn burger. Stuff like that.

Hong Kong has great stuff though, they have a 'garden fresh angus burger' which is actually a really good hamburger, not even for mcdonalds but for any burger restaurant it's a good burger. The bun is a real bakery-style hamburger bun, proper salad on it instead of chopped up bag shit, stuff like that.

In Hungary we had these for a week or so. There was make-your-burger competition and this won. Funny thing about the burger it's name, TIPSZMIKSZ. It comes from a trending video from that time where a bald guy calling a football match rigged by shouting TIPSZMIKSZ. As MaccyD didn't expect a meme to win, they had to announce this and another (normal) winner.

Can't remember if it's Mexico or Guatemala or both but McDonalds has hot peppers and stuff out for the taking. It's great.

In Vietnam they make regular hamburgers but with pork patties (as normally used in the breakfast stuff) which are great.

In Korea they do a bunch of weird stuff. The Bulgogi burger is different. They do a sorta' ripoff of a MOS burger that's not as good at the real thing but a lot cheaper.

In Canada on the East Coast I've had a lobster sandwich it was OK but expensive.

Yeah despite it's diminutive size it packs a whopping 24% of an adult male's daily calorie requirements without sauce or sides or a drink, mostly because of the high amount of fat in it. Look it up. Take the local Pizza Hut for instance. The owner has been looking for a general manager and assistant general manager for almost 2 years now. But his requirements are insane, doesn't want to pay them, and wants them to work all shifts. So the kids fuck around any time he's not there and send out raw pizzas with half-melted cheese and get half the orders wrong.

They have some of those in HK.
Also HK has the Shogun burger which is a pork burger I think with optional egg.

Mainland China doesn't have the 1/4pounder I don't think. Does have a double cheeseburger.

pic related is the German double sausage burger, no idea if it's global or Chinese local. The sausages are rather good but the mustard is literally weak-sauce. The patties end up too dry because they don't get mustard or cheese and are just steamed beef brains etc. It's greasy as fuck, more than most McD burgers or local Chinese food.

Once you throw away the bland, dry patties and pour off the grease, the sausages are quite good and it makes a decent sausage burger.

Franchise fast food just doesn't do that well in Vietnam. Probably because you can get a banh mi for a dollar that's way better than any hamburger on every block.

KFC's are pretty common and always busy though.

There are Lotteria's everywhere which I can't understand since it's the worst fast-food chain on the planet.

Lotteria has an interesting strategy where they seize all the prime locations before their competitors can expand and by default end up with the largest market share (despite having subpar product) because their restaurants are convenient to go to. They understand that most fast food customers are hungry, exhausted, and don't crave specific item in mind, just that they want a burger, they want it fast, and they most certainly don't want to walk two blocks to the nearest MOS Burger.

It also helps that its parent companies (Lotte Holdings Co., Ltd. (Japan) and Lotte Corp. (Korea)) are one of Asia's largest real estate holding companies.

Bahn Mi are better in every way, also Vietnamese cuisine has a hot/cold balance that McDonalds just aren't very compatible with. You could kind of do some 1950s burgers with fresh, crunchy salad in it and it might work but you can't really do that in fast food, it never works properly.

>>11272457
>why wouldn't American consumer franchise succeed in Vietnam
It's not what you think, Vietnamese genuinely don't resent the US and welcome the investment etc. I think it's about culture and cuisine, not politics. McDs are doing ok in HCMC though, just not as well as in most other countries.

Funniliy enough, although it is not related to his McD's collaboration, Gualtiero Marchesi "gave back" (and the guide obliged and removed his restaurant from the list) his stars as a form of protest saying that the Italians shouldn't rely on a french guide to evaluate Italian restaurants, lamenting that while 26 restaurants in France had 3 stars, only 5 in Italy were given that score.
As for Bastianich, he doesn't have any stars to start with, here in Italy he's more of a TV personality, and of the two restaurants he opened in Italy one failed and one collects only mediocre reviews.

Well they open only in places where they're sure that people both have enough money to afford it and sufficient taste to appreciate it.
Though as far as I remember every french restaurant (outside from fake "café" shit) I've come up in foreign countries had stupidly high prices and was too far up its ass with dress code etc.
If I go to my local starred restaurant that has been opened for more years that I've been alive while only wearing jeans and a white shirt (or even a t-shirt and clean boots) I don't see why I should wear a full tux to go to a non-starred french restaurant that has been opened in a despotic country for less than 6 months.

They have it as a promotion in SG time to time. The last they did it was in June but they ran out of stock quick in 2 weeks.

When I was in Thailand there were two good things about McDonald's, the whole pieces of fried chicken were better than most fried chicken I've had and the BBQ sauce had Thai chiles in it.

In tel aviv i ordered a triple decker burger from maccies thinking it would be just a slightly bigger big mac. The patties were easily double the regular size, so i pretty much ordered a 6x portion.

Made pao de queijo bc of this post, just had to run out for some tapioca starch. Happy how they turned out, but they're not good cool, much better piping hot. Might add some garlic or something to give a bit more flavor next time. Really easy recipe tho, thanks for sharing

I think the vivace was the best McDonald's hamburger that I ever tasted. I seriously wish it will come back someday since I could only ate it once (it was down a week only iirc).
You forgot the Mozzarillo, moderately cheap, simple and tasty
