Ok so I have a Serbian coworker. She says that Serbians put tomato ketchup on their pizza instead of tomato sauce. Is there any truth to this, or is it just something her family does?

I have no idea. But it should be easy to figure out. Set your language search preferances to Serbian and use Google Translate to search/understand.

Can't comment on Serbia but this is extremely common in Russia and other former Soviet countries. Buy it in a restaurant and it'll be a real pizza, but a homemade pizza made by some Russian mum has a 99% chance of containing both ketchup and mayonnaise.

Bulgarian here. We put ketchup and mayo on pizza after it's cooked, on top of also putting tomato sauce as base. We treat it like a hotdog basically.

Don't know if this is all an elaborate meme or not, but I taught English in Korea for a year after college and while I never saw this firsthand, I did read in the Korean ESL teaching forum website I was using at the time about how Koreans had learned about pizza and decided to make their own using ketchup instead of tomato sauce.
Might just be a story that gets told about all sorts of random foreign countries because it's that right mix of abhorrent yet plausible.

OK we need to make a distinction between American ketchup and pretty much every other countries ketchup. America puts tons of sugar in their ketchup. My uncle always buys sugar free ketchup because when he was growing up in the 70s and 80s they never put sugar in it. He said ketchup was never sweet, it just tasted like real ripe tomatoes. But Heinz figured out that if you put a load of sugar in it people will think it tastes better and get hooked on sugar in their food.

ok so you're in 7th grade and the mid-day recess bell rings. you have 15 minutes to stuff your face with enough food for lunch. your daily allowance is about half a dollar. a slice of pizza costs about that much. the condiments are free, so you put on mayo, ketchup and mustard to get the most food for your buck.

>> No.11271927

>>11269282
Yes, its very common here. To top it off the ketchup is cheap domestic shit that tastes 10 times worse than Heinz even. Truth be told, most people I know only do it when you get a slice on the street. Never seen someone do it at home when they order a full pie for delivery.

That's right. Goys do that because Jews can't mix meat (hot dog) with dairy (cream cheese). However, all Americans are honourary Jews anyway, even the ones who hate Jews, because you have mutilated dicks and your hot dogs are inexplicably made of beef. Pork or gtfo, AmeriJew.

I like ketchup. On foods that it adds to, like hot dogs or hamburgers. Not on shit that requires tomato paste or sauce.

Or are you the kind of person who thinks "hey ketchup is technically a tomato paste, and it all has tomatoes in it, so what is the big deal?"
