I have trouble eating. As in I usually don't know what to eat and I end up starving. Mentally it takes too much effort to remember to eat and usually I don't realize it until I am weak and hungry. Are there any foods that are nutrient dense that are easy to eat so I don't feel bad all the time?

>> No.11218506

if you have no concept of hunger then you are a biological anomaly and should be studied in a lab

You don't need to eat 3 meals a day. There's a wonderful solution for retards like you: OMAD; one meal a day. Calculate your macro's and make sure you get enough fiber, vitamins, and minerals in that one meal. Keep munching until it's all gone.

Here's an example for a meal plan:

1/2 cup of dry lentils, soaked and cooked
4 slices of bread
2 slices of cheese
2 slices of ham
2 eggs fried in 1 tsp of oil
5 oz of meat
1 cup of potatoes
2 cups of vegetables
1 cup of quark

Aboutr 1,965 calories, 137g of protein, 163g of carbs, 70 grams of fat, and 50 grams of fiber. If you're not a fat, sedentary slob, feel free to add more calories in the form of snacks or extra of whatever of the listed foods you like the most.

>Mentally it takes too much effort to remember to eat

Even bugs are capable of the mental effort to remember to eat.

>> No.11218665

Used to have terrible depression where I'd go days at a time without eating so as to avoid the human interaction required to get food. Once you get to a certain point, it feels like too much effort to chew and swallow.
OP, the best solution for you would be to implement routines. More realistically, keep a stockpile of easy to eat "intro" foods that can take you past the brink of weakness, enough to have the energy to get other foods to eat.
I recommend drinkable forms of protein. My personal favorite was Muscle Milk, which has this oddly satisfying aftertaste.
Once you get some protein in you, you can either cook or order out for a more substantial meal.

bugs aren't capable of mental effort
literally everything a bug does is hardwired as a reflex, even complex movement/problem solving in eusocial insects like ants can be broken down into simple steps and algorithms

Oh yeah I have depression as well. I forgot to mention that. I have room mates that I don't want to see so I sometimes skip breakfast and lunch. I'm always trying to play catch up with my calories. Thanks for the advice!

Man, that brings back memories. I kept the weirdest routines to avoid my roommates.
Long term, hiding in your room will reinforce depressive thought, but for short term survival it helps to find small ways to make reclusive life easier on yourself. Keep a stash of muscle milk in the fridge and sneak one or two of them back into your room at whatever ass-o-clock in the morning you wake up at, assuming you also have interrupted sleep. These will be your meal for the day. Even better, if you've got the money, you can get a mini fridge for your room.

Depression's a bitch. Not only do you have almost no energy, now basic human functions like eating and hygiene don't come naturally. You lose your sense of self preservation. Your survival ability is less than an insect's. To compensate, it really helps to set up small cheats like this for yourself. If you can reduce the amount of energy spent maintaining yourself, you might find yourself with a surplus to do something big. Go outside, or do something you can be proud of. Take care of a small plant, or cook a meal. We're all gonna make it.

Iktf, I never eat breakfast and I have gone for days without eating because I just don't feel like it or if it hurts too bad from reflux. Make a meal plan and track it, I like to use MyFitnessPal. I like to make vegetable and meat empanadas and dumplings and freeze them. I also keep some liquid meat replacements around if I'm really not feeling it, Orgain is the best out of those. You can make dense scones with lots of nuts and dried fruit too, to just grab. The trick is to make things really easy for yourself.

Yeah, it's been getting real bad lately, i have been pissing in a cup because I don't want them to see me come out of my room. It's weird and unhealthy. Luckily our work schedules aren't in sync. I don't know why I shy away from them.

I hope you get better some day. I’ve been coming out of very long depression the past few months. Still not all there, but six months ago I would never have imagined that I’d ever get even as far as I am now.

I don't really have the anatomy for precision peeing.
I could've gotten a wide-mouth jug or something, but I wasn't exactly capable of solutions or resourcefulness at the time. I used to break out in tears when I thought about throwing out trash that I was already holding. The steps needed to accomplish even the most simple task stretched out infinitely, like trying to go from 1 to 2 by considering each decimal point on the line. First you have to get to .1, but to get there you need to get to .01, and .001, and before you know it a task that's so simple a healthy person could do it automatically has caused me to have a small breakdown.
I don't know if what I'm saying would make sense to anybody who hasn't experienced it before.
