Tomato sauce has a bit more variety in terms of its ingredients, and ketchup has less variety iirc. Feel free to correct me. It’s been a while since I’ve read up about it. Now catsup...that’s a story for another time...

Well, in general tomato sauce is supposed to be just tomatoes, concentrated a little not to be too runny, still too runny to use as condiment on sandwiches etc. And would spoil fast after opening.

Ketchup gets spices, thickener, preservatives so you don't have to keep it refrigerated after opening, and comes in a convenient bottle, essentially a tomato sauce adapted for comfortable use as condiment. Sometimes with various "flavor enhancers" too.
