Should fat people pay some kind of tax for being overweight? Like, a penalty of 100 dollars for every pound they are above their recommended BMI? Think about it. It would be an incentive for them to live more healthily. The money could be used to fund education and the like. This may sound outlandish, but the government needs to take further steps to thwart obesity, lest the healthy minority is footed with the bill.

Why? Economic studies show that smokers are actually a cost saver to social security for dying early. The same is probably true of the hypertension deaths caused by obesity. We should subsidize self destructive behavior.

Legitimately this. My build is such that I need a bouyancy test to get a consistent BMI. Even when I was fit, being in the army, I had to fast before weigh ins to avoid getting taped....measured in a variety of places to determine BMI based on a chart.

I like the idea of taxing the fat people. I would say do it by body fat%, since BMI would fuck muscular people over. They should also take a doctors opinion in consideration (fat because of meds, disease). You have to tackle the I'm fat because of my own doing people, not people who actually have medical issues causing them to gain weight. It's not. It's totally understandable why people that age would believe fat makes you fat.

The research he did actually disproved his own theory and so he modified the results so that he could go on to publish what he wanted to publish. The study is infamously known now as the Seven Countries Study (originally included 22 countries but he omitted everything that didn't support his theory).

No one ever performed any clinical trials on the validity of his idea and the FDA adopted it into the food pyramid, which it spread to everyone, in the 1960s. The food pyramid has not changed to this day nor has its nutrition ever been tested in clinical trials, to this day.

tl;dr American gubmint didn't fact check a rogue doctor and as such has been spreading dietary misinformation for decades. Literally one selfish douchebag caused the entire obesity epidemic.

Lots of insurance companies are charging more for fat people, due to the increased cost in all their medical issues. You probably could have looked that up but eurofags and bongs are lazy faggots

>> No.10682969

>>10682914
The primary function of a skeleton is supporting the body.
Your skeleton sacrifices some of it's rigidity to accommodate movement, particularly in the lumbar area. Because you are bipedal this flexible part has to support quite some weight.

Your spine would still support your upper body weight if all your core muscles were gone, you would not turn gooey and your chest would not fall off. However if you had no core muscles your spine would shift and move around, causing back pain because of the stress on your nerves. Your core muscles stabilize the spine, however the actual support is still provided by the spine.

Probably a better idea to address the primary upstream negative drivers in our societies... You'd see a lot of self-medicating behaviours reduced that way. Knock feminism down a few pegs, bring back patriarchy and laws that promote the nuclear family. Decriminialize offending people, stop importing people (especially 'diverse' people) when there already isn't enough work and housing to go around. You get the idea.

Proper education would help too... People need to understand that most of the foods we prefer to eat (not just junk food) are quite calorically dense and bioavailable. Combined with the modern decline of phyiscal activity, I suspect most people would be fine with a single meal per day. Of course, no politician would suggest such a thing as the mere thought of the corresponding economic contraction would bring on diaphoresis.

This doesn't have the effect you think it will always think what is the path of least resistance that people will take. This will result in people getting liposuction before the tax weighing in order to save money. Also this will probably require a doctor to confirm the weighing once every year or people will just lie about their weight like they always do. So you'll have a system were people are encouraged to damage their health to save money once a year and a HUGE strain on the medical system as every single person in the country HAS to get a physical every year always. Probably causing medical prices to increase.

You've made clinis super crowded, doctors always in shortage, prices higher, and people dependent on surgeries that overall make them more unhealthy. Congrats your a moron. Run for Senate you'll make it.
