When do we get this kind of stuff into our kitchens? I wanna live in an sci-fi movie already... Or is pic related just some concept prototype?

touching stuff next to hot elements
this is the most retarded thing i have ever seen in my life. why can't numales nor americans of any age design anything that's actually functional?

It'll be an induction cooker.

Numales have no real-world experience with anything so they have no idea what's actually important. They just follow the modern trend of sticking screens on everything.

>putting big moving electromagnets near your touchscreens
>putting touchscreens under objects that will soon get very hot
>expecting user to touch around their pot of boiling water/oil
>what's on the touchscreen is busy as fuck and 99% things that aren't useful, and tons of random lines and circles and arcs just because LOL SCIFI
point still stands, it's a shit machine designed by shit people

seems about right. even on normal things that should be displays, they fuck it up and miss the point

i keep thinking of going back to school for some kind of design field but I think I'd end up shooting up a place, or at the very least never getting hired because I'd say things like "What if you used something OTHER than a touchscreen here? Such as say, a normal-ass button or dial with normal graduations?"

Just because it uses induction doesn't mean it doesn't get hot. While the induction surface isn't directly heated, the indirect heat from the pot or pan you have on top of it isn't insignificant and could deliver a pretty solid burn should you go to load up porn on your touch-screen oven immediately after cooking your ramen.

It'll be one more thing you need three degrees and tens of thousands in specialized equipment to have of repairing. What's the fucking point when what we already have while not perfect, which probably could use some tweaking, works pretty well.

People will still manage to burn their stuff because they cook while drunk and wander away and fall asleep while playing vidya. Humans are the weakest link.

it's always been dumbshit to go "I've been born in the wrong generation" but I genuinely think that the years since 9/11 have just gotten worse and worse, and things really nosedived after about 2010. There's a marked decline in the quality of software and hardware, music got REAL bad for a while, even people in general seemed to be more rude and less approachable after 2015 than before it.

Not gonna lie, that looks kinda' dope, but then skype was like living in the future when it first came out, and I never use it now. I have a small counter in my kitchen perfect for a tablet and charger if I want to look up a recipe while cooking.

a couple days ago someone made a similar post about flying cars and other miscellaneous sci-fi tech on /g/ with almost the same grammar as you. I don't know if you're the same guy but I'll say the same thing. sci-fi movies aren't the same thing as real life. in sci-fi, tech looks like that because the film makers and directors want you to know that you're in the future. In reality, most of this stuff is incredibly impractical and pointless to create. what does a touch screen range have to offer that a regular range doesn't?

>t. someone who's never used an induction cooker

It will peel the skin off your hand if you touch it during/shortly after it has been used. That heat travels out to the rest of it on a temperature gradient.
