>> No.10500520

I've shopped at supermarkets in Japan and at this chain in America. They are pretty similar, one big difference that I did notice is that the stores in Japan were smaller on average (at least the ones I visited). A few were comparable in size, but on the whole they were smaller than the average American counterpart, but not so small I'd not call them supermarkets. The Nijiya close to me is about the same size as an average Japanese store.

In terms of the shopping experience they didn't seem all that different from American stores, of course with a different selection of goods on offer.

Hey post up the weekly ad from your store, be kind of cool to see one that doesn't have a beer special going.

State laws. Some allow grocery stores to sell liquor, some don't.

>> No.10508187

yeah but doesn't matter if it is wine, beer or liquor, drink enough of it and you'll still end up drunk.
The part that makes no sense to me is drawing a false distinction between different type of alcoholic beverages. If you don't like alcohol ban all of it, But I'm expecting sense out of nutjobs, so maybe I'm the idiot here.

Also I have that same Lucerne cheese deal but it'll cost me $5.17 for unknown reasons.

There are a few stores in America that would sell both beer and bedding... most are big box stores.

Walmart
Kmart
Target
World Market

Brainlet detected. BOGO deals are always a rip-off, because they simply double the price so you're spending the same that you normally would to buy two.

>> No.10512075

>>10512037
What type of shady ass stores are you shopping at? I track my grocery prices pretty closely, and none of the stores around here do that.
I usually dislike BOGO deals because I simply don't need 2 of the item or it would go bad before I ate teh second one.

Not him, but I live an hour north of Miami and Publix is my go-to. Prices don't seem too different from the other English ads. Some things are cheaper and some things are more expensive, it's hard to tell when these are promotional prices. As well as things like a brand-name product being on sale still coming out to be more expensive than a generic brand.

Also I love Publix's aesthetic but fuck if it's shit for posting in a thread like this. There are like 30 pages of ads.

>There are like 30 pages of ads.
That's why we are only posting the first page. That's where the big deals are (usually) and it gives just enough to get a feel for what is happening in different regions/countries
