I don't like instant ramen as a soup, because the "seasoning" is too damn salty. So, I'll add the seasoning to the cooking water, but when my noodles are done, I drain them. Then, I'll make them one of two ways:
>butter, herbs, pepper, scallion, and lemon
>scallion, chili-garlic paste, sesame oil, lime juice
Imo, much better than drinking the salt boullion.

If you're gonna put cheese into ramen, you make it so that there's almost no broth. You can mix the cheese into the noodles that way and it's really a totally different dish.

Actually peanut butter is quite a common ingredient to broths/soups for it's richness. You guys are just too stupid and ignorant to know. Explains the board.

>> No.10436748

>>10436157
addind peanut butter while its still boiling hot adds richness to the broth like>>10436531 said. again, i mostly do this to spicy ramens i almost never eat maruchan or top ramen. cheese isnt for everyone as it can be greasy but again in a spicy ramen it can counteract the heat a little

Shredded or grated cheese works best, binds to the noodles. Sheeit, I may just have some ramen with egg and cheese tonight.

ive tried onion before and its nice but thats just cause i love onions in general. adding green onion to ramen adds a clean crisp taste to mask either the spice or greasy taste

I add a frozen spinach cube and some sweet chilli sauce as well as chopped shallots.

Additionally I might also add either peanut butter (for satay taste) or grated cheese. Egg works fine too.

This. Raw green onion is more mild than regular onions and cuts through the richness of the broth. Or salt water. Whichever you're doing.

>> No.10437154

>>10436913
Because adding a raw white onion or red would be too overpowering tasting. Frying onions and adding it seems too labour intensive and I wouldn't even use a whole onion. Have you ever put half a raw onion back in the fridge? Shit stinks.
Plus what >>10436929 says about it tasting clean and crisp.

>> No.10437341

no, it works because the broth is full of starch and salt.

someone who is eating ramen regularly can't afford half the stuff on there

i just add frozen veggie mix (carrots peas corn) while the noodles are boiling

Cooked ramen is actually a good thing to scramble eggs in. Toss in some scallions and real crispy bacon and you are FULL. 1 pack of ramen,2 eggs,2 slices of bacon and any amount of your favorite scrambled egg vegetable and you're good. Can even use some of the flava pack if you're totally poorfagging it.

I learned that in jail. You can do a lot with peanut butter. How do you think most Chinese restaurants make their peanut sauce?

>> No.10437773

>>10434377
I add two eggs and about a tablespoon approx. (depending on how much noodle) of dried seaweed to most instant ramen I make.
>soften noodles
>add seasonings and seaweed
>wait a little then add egg
Easy filler/protein. The seaweed and eggs absorb some of the broth though, so if you're the kind of person who doesn't normally drink it, it'll up your salt intake to some degree.
