A lot of people don't like eating and just do it because they have to.
This product was specifically marketed as a solution to have one simple shake replace normal eating.
It's not that complicated. If you come up with your own simple solution to the problem of needing to eat to stay alive you'll probably make a lot of money too.

Just because you don't like eating as a hobby doesn't mean you have a problem specifically with how preparing food is a hassle. You could just not enjoy pushing mashed up piles of dead animal and plant matter down your throat. The need to eat is involuntary so it shouldn't be surprising some people wouldn't like it much. It's more difficult if anything to explain why so many people like it that much to the point where half of the modern world is obese and food is treated like a recreational activity. I mean you could look at other involuntary bodily processes and most of them people don't turn into a hobby like that.

pic related is the patricians choice.
Twennybar, produced by JimmyJoy (formerly known as Joylent, the european Soylent).
They actually taste pretty okay and you dont need the water and shaker, which makes it even easier than shit tasting Joylent/Soylent.
The only downside is that they are twice as expensive as normal Joylent (~6€/d; ~12€/d) and because of the dry oatmeal you have to chew a lot.

What you're saying could be applied to almost anything DIYable--car repair, home maintenance, yard work, hell even things like making clothing. People choose which things to spend time on, and the rest they neglect or pay someone else to manage them. Cooking is just another of these things. Stop making value judgements on people just because they don't find as much intrinsic value in cooking.
