Not a fan of Jews, but the food is a good collection of Central European cuisine. I prefer a non-Jewish German or Polish deli if available because of pork, though.

I tried a halva bar from the supermarket and it was disgusting. Gave it to a beggar on my way back.

Used to be a place in North Dallas when I grew up that used imported New York City water. I guess they imported everything else too I don't know. Everyone was nuts about this place. I was just a little kid but the bagels were pretty damn good.

Depends on the deli, they vary in quality. What they never vary in is being very overpriced.

Not all delis are created equal but sometimes you run across a good one. My local deli is medium average. I will say that an onion bagel with garlic herb schmear with scallions and a cup of soup, potato leek or tomato basil is a pretty righteous way to start a day.
