Maine reporting.

London Fogs are on many menus at coffee and tea places here.

Poutine is everywhere. I bet it's better across the border, but it's available.

I don't know why (probably because winter sucks and spicy food makes it better), but there's a lot of cajun food spots and a couple backyard southern bbq joints here. I can get nashville hot chicken with wonderbread, collards, mac and cheese, all the fixins within a couple blocks of my apartment.

Obviously lobster rolls are a thing here, but they're a thing a lot of places.

Elver eels are a culinary product fairly specific to Maine, but I understand it is mostly an export market.

The only thing I can think of that really fits into this local-only is fiddleheads (pic related). I've never seen them anywhere else.

What would you say is the best way to prepare fiddleheads?
