I have to say that I am not a picky eater, but I am always surprised at the vehement vitriol against picky eaters on /ck/.

Why?

I love to read, but I don't read everything and anything. I'm not going to judge someone because they don't read People magazine, Twilight, or other low entertainment.

What about music? Do you have to enjoy Justin Bieber and other ephemeral pop music to be considered a music lover? If you do not like it are you considered a picky child?

Why does a line suddenly materialize when it comes to food? I don't eat fast food or most processed foods, am I picky?

Or does it come down to someone disliking something that you like? If this is the case, can having strong food preferences be considered being picky too?

Should we all consume whatever is within proximity to our flailing arms and gaping maws, without any thought or consideration, lest we be branded picky?

pot makes me depressed, paranoid, and anxious. I can only smoke at concerts where the music takes my focus off all bad feels. I can't even smoke before movies because I read too much into things and start picking up on "subliminal messages" which are probably actually nonexistent.

Pot makes me hyper-aware of things to the point of it being uncomfortable. Booze dulls the pain and anxiety that goes with a rapidly thinking and uncomfortable mind.

Oxtail stew, I like this. Theres a good soul food place up the road in nigger town that sells some awesome oxtail. And its relatively inexpensive.

Is it "gangster" though? My costume and moniker is going to be that of a hood DJ mixmaster. I'm going for the look of a straight G. I want my food and drinks to compliment.

Guys my mom made some homemade chili for thanksgiving and gave me a big sealed container of it to take home. Do you think its still good to eat? She made it last Wednesday.
