what's for dinner /ck/?
i cook almost every night but tonight my fiancee made dinner. she grew up in louisiana in a cajun house hold and it's about all she can cook. i don't get it. woman cant make a burger to save her life but can murder some etouffee or gumbo.
she just spent 5 hours making chicken gumbo from scratch
>dark roux
> add the trinity of onions, bellpepper and celery
>add garlic
>add beer, she used shiner bock because it's my favorite and i drank the rest.
>scratch made chicken stock. she used drums and tenders because that was what was cheap and ready at the time and we wanted dark and light meat. a whole chicken whould have been overkill.
>bay leaves, thyme, cayenne, paprika, black pepper, tony chachere's and hot sauce.
>served with white rice.

FUCK i love it when other people cook good food for me. i know that might be a bit silly but since i cook my own dinners basically 7 days a week it's really a special treat for me.

i know it doesn't look amazing but good gumbo never does.
