first of all, yes we're italian and we do speak italian in our everyday lives, what you hear about us speaking a different language comes from the fact that our language, "sardo" is, in fact, a true language on its own, and not a dialect, as it happens in other regions of italy, such as rome, with their "romano", which is an italian dialect

not all of us are happy about being italian, and there are some small political groups who are working everyday to obtain the indipendence of the island, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon, and to be honest I don't feel like it would be a good idea on the long run
