For the longest time I would see people fuss over this, and not give it much thought. It looks good. However, I thought it was fries covered in cooked/uncooked marshmallows and maple syrup.
But this summer I will be going to a wedding in canada, so I finally looked up to see what it actually was. So it's cheese curds and gravy on fries? Still sounds good, but my version sounded way better.

Any other Canadian dishes I should try while I'm there?

Poutine originally looks more like this. But I'm sure your arranged versions tastes good too, there's lots of different versions now here too to diversify!

School me on poutine. Seems simple enough, but I wanna get it right. I've never had it and I really want to try it, but Canada is a few hundred miles away so I decided I want to make it tonight. I think the problem I'm going to face is with the cheese. What type of cheese do I need to get and any special way of cutting it?

Here. This is what I use, it works pretty well.

Poutine is the best thing ever... My ex is from Canada, she was heartbroken to not find poutine down here. So we set about making it... The hard part was the curds.

That recipe worked beautifully. I'll make some more and take pics. You do the same. Good luck!

Post what you'd choose if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life.

I hate to perpetuate stereotypes but pic very related. Might as well die quick if I was forced to eat only one dish for the rest of my life anyway

Truly a God tier ale, as far as I am concerned. Trois Pistols is a close second.

From the actual beer stores, you are correct there. I don't find the same at bars, however. Downtown Montreal is probably the only place that can rival a place in Toronto like Bar Volo, or similar.

As a Torontonian I must ask: While I understand you folks in Quebec don't have the same restrictions we do, is your selection there that much better? I didn't personally find it to be cheaper by much when I was in Montreal a few years ago, but I only went to a 7-11, really.
