McMuffins add an extra layer of confusion.

If you want the egg & cheese, you have to ask for the "X & Egg McMuffin." If you just want X meat, then you say "X McMuffin." Cheese is included in both options, so you don't have to specify cheese.

If it's bacon or sausage you want, you have to specify the meat.
If it's Canadian bacon (often mistaken for ham) you want, then you don't mention any meat by name.
If for some reason you want no meat at all, you would have to customize the order.

Bacon, egg, cheese = Bacon & Egg McMuffin
Bacon, cheese = Bacon McMuffin
Canadian bacon, egg, cheese = Egg McMuffin
Egg, cheese, no meat = Egg McMuffin, hold the meat
