I have a 1000 grit, and sharpen twice a year usually, but that can vary pretty decently depending on how hard I am on my knives. I don't use a honing steel because frankly, whenever I try to, I feel like I just make things worse, frankly. I feel like an idiot, knowing how to sharpen with a whetstone, but fucking things up with the honing steel. What does it even do anyway?

I'm sensitive to OP's situation. There are some people out there with palates that are a bit...strange. There's only one food prepared a certain way that I have a hangup on (under cooked, runny eggs.) But I get there are reasons why people might not like tomatoes because of the texture, or broccoli because of the smell. Or beef because cows are adorable, especially the babies.

While I also love those two veggies, I'd recommend simply working around them and finding veggies she's comfy with. I don't even know where to begin with the pasta though. Who doesn't like delicious carbs?

So other than it not being hydrogenated, are there any huge benefits from rendering your own lard rather than buying the crisco one? Seems like a lot of work.

Hello /ck/

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. My girlfriend doesn't like fish, but she wants to be able to enjoy it. I've already convinced her to eat mushrooms and use pepper, so i guess some exposure therapy is in order.
What would you suggest? Ehat's the least fishy fish out there?
Lesbian oral sex is not an option.

My family are the people who applaud and cheer sarcastically when a waiter drops something. It's super embarrassing.

I'm at my parents' house for Labor Day and my dad decides to make Jambalaya. Yippee!!! Except he decides to make it in the microwave. Each step is apparently microwaved separately. I don't get it but it's his dish and his house. He's microwaving the onions, celery, and pepper in a pyrex dish as we speak. I asked him why not simply use a pot like the rest of the jambalaya cooking world? His response is that this is what the recipe called for...

What does /ck/ think of this. I'm just confused.

How should I eat in university /ck/? I'm passable at cooking but I don't know how to make myself proper meals for weeks, months, years in uni. Is there any tip you guys could give me on this matter? My main concerns are:
>energy
I can't focus on studying without an empty stomach or lack of energy.
>nutritious
Just enough to not get myself malnutrition or becoming a fatass.
>cheap
I guess this is depend on the materials, but still.
>easy/ fast to cook stuffs
I'm a slow cooker so until I get used to cooking, I would rather not have myself doing something too complicated that cost too much times.
