Got any pet peeves or anecdotes about people abusing food/cookery? I got a petty one:

>be me
>20 years old, still living with my parents cause undergraduate.jpg
>dad does the shopping for once, brings back 7-10 spring onions
>oh sweet, finally some flavor in this household
>a few hours later I find my dad cutting up the onions in the kitchen
>immediately suspicious because my dad can't cook
>realize he's cutting off the roots, eating them raw and throwing out the rest of the onions
>mfw when he does this cause he thinks the roots have medicinal properties
>mfw when I was too late to save the onions

I feel like an inferior shithead compared to a good friend of mine. He's also the captain of my culinary competition team. He's working with a James Beard award winning chef (not gonna say who). I could be at his level but I don't have the motivation and I have made so many shitty career choices so I guess I'm the only one to blame. I quit my last job because it was depressing me to the point of suicide. My old chef was upset when I told him I was quitting and would tell me "you wanna be a star, you have to hang with the stars". But it just pisses me off whenever I see him post pics of food on instagram or some shit. Everyone sucks his dick and thinks he's the hottest shit.

The only reason he got the job anyways is because the chef thought his backstory was interesting, he was a refugee out of Iran when he was like 10.

Anyways, how's your guys' careers going?
