Supposedly the "studies" prove that eating red meat increases your chances of cancer or heart disease by .07% What they don't tell you is that the so-called increased risk is so miniscule that scientifically it is meaningless, not even worth reporting, especially so when other factors (like the meat eaters also smoked more, while most vegetarians don't smoke) are involved.

So do non fast food vegans. They dont get enough essential risk amino acids in their diet and their body eventually strips them from their own muscles including their heart. Its theoretically possible to eat a vegan diet that doesnt do this, but not without neglecting something else important that causes damage elsewhere in their body.
