The donair sauce I've tried was too sweet. I need to make some with way less sugar than what is normally used. For the garlic fingers.

ayyy good choice. You should try making some donair sauce and see if you like it with the garlic fingers, the tastes complement each other very well. Also, I haven't tried it yet, but it seems traditional to cook them with some crumbled bacon on top. I do want to try it some time, I just haven't been in the mood for bacon in awhile.
