Archaeologists recently uncovered the testimony of a medieval peasant, recorded by a barrister before he was burned alive for stealing an apple. What he remembers as peasant food growing up as a young kid in medieval Europe:

>turnip
>bread
>low-alcohol beer made from fermented bread and rainwater
>special big turnip on special occasion
>one time, poached rats (hunter's entire family was executed, RIP)

Moderners have no idea how bad it really was. No one in medieval times knew what the fuck forks were or Pepsi. Medieval peasant food was disgusting. Literally the bare minimum needed to keep white slaves alive. Makes sense because peasants were the caste of humans closest to animals. They made disgusting noises when they ate, slurped everything, farmers and millers got drawn & quartered for making eye contact with the local "noble" warlord while their children were raped and murdered for sport. Like what kind of sadist decided to mythologize authority as the most practical way to subjugate nations. Modern Walsharters on mobility scooters have a better diet than the average medieval peasant.
