>let it preheat a couple minutes, put some oil in and then walk and get the meat
>walking with container of meat and suddenly pillar of fire erupts from the pot with oil
>no lids nearby except wet in the sink
>set meat down and quickly grab pot and place it on the floor?

>eventually find dry lid
>put it on and let it sit for a minute
>oh fuck
>grab pot and put it back on stove on unused burner
>giant black spot permanently burned/melted into floor in the middle of kitchen
>constant reminder every day of my failure

I drink coffee every day, so scared of this happening to me. Is this common?
