I used to cook popcorn on the stove all my life as a kid.
When I moved to my first apartment, it had an electric stove--never used one before.
The first time I cooked popcorn, I had it so hot, I caught the oil on fire.
Rushing it to the sink to pour water into it not only didn't help, it almost burnt the fucking place down.
Fortunately, it was winter & had snowed, so I ran outside & piled snow into it until it went out.
Ruined the pot, which I'd had since childhood.
It had started to bend & warp due to flaming for so long before I could figure out wtf to do, and was horribly deformed.

We really need one of those rent a friend/family places in the US, like the ones they have in Japan.

Sometimes I want to go to the movies or a restaurant. But the friends I have are too embarrassing to for me to be seen in public with them. One is an overweight autistic white guy, the other a skinny tall Nigerian who can barely speak English. I feel embarrassed to be seen in public with them.
