Hiya /ck/, /co/ here.

I'd like to cook for someone, and they said that they preferred spicy food, the spicier the better. Right now, I have chicken thighs soaking in a marinade with salt, pepper, rosemary, garlic, paprika, a bit of lemon and cayenne.

How do you compliment that, like is there some combination of flavor that would make the chicken spicier when eaten with a side dish that also had a distinct flavor of it's own? I figured I could make the side dish spicier than the chicken but that would be a cop out, and that would not work at all and the entire thing would just be one big burn in the mouth.

Could you help me out? My ideas for a side is either a rice dish or a mash/puree of root vegetables, and roasted vegetables.
