>lots of cool software nowadays to show the board, the dungeon layout, your character tokens etc, as well as to keep track of status effects and other shit
>much easier to ditch a shitty session early if you have to, than in RL (can just literally close discord and text them saying your internet went down)
>if you want to be a cheating cunt, you can fudge the dice rolls (usually DMs trust players to roll their own dice and just be honest about what they got)
>online programs/apps take care of the character sheet much easier than a pencil n paper
>can play D&D in the comfort of your own bedroom/living room in your underpants or naked and the rest of the group doesnt know
