Why is drinking beer so satisfying?

I'm not an alcoholic (I only drink 2-3 times per week), but from Monday to Friday on my work week, I look forward to going to bars on the weekend and drinking some cold beers.
It's one of those simple, satisfying things. Getting drunk (but not wasted) off beer, then getting some tacos or deli sandwiches after at 4AM.
And on the rare occasion I meet qts, it's even better!
