Is there anything more of a LEGITIMATE meme than italian cooking?

I mean that italian food, made by italians, is such a specific thing without any regard to taste, texture, or ease of creation. It's just a bunch of tradition that Italians do because their granmama did it before them. Stuff like not putting garlic in carbonara, not putting lean proteins on pasta, needing quality wine to cook with instead of some bargain wine which would give about as much flavor, considering splochy pizza the only type of pizza.

The French have none of these dumbass rules.
