My family is leaving town for a few day so I want to make myself a nice meal since I don't have to spend money cooking for all of them.

I'm an amateur home cook. But I need a job and I see a lot of line cook jobs near me that say "we will train you" etc.

Anyone work in the industry want to give me tips / advice on how to not die if I get hired?

I never really cooked before. I just heat up frozen stuff but I realized it's not much food and it's very expensive. What exactly do I buy so I can cook a bunch of food for cheap? I don't have a car and I order delivery from Walmart so anything from there works. I want to get strong and lose weight so maybe some salads and meat and stuff? Idk. lol.

I get about $350 in EBT food stamps a month so that's what I'll be spending. I mean as long as it fits into that budget, I am willing to buy more expensive stuff.
