Anyone here make their own bacon?

Living in Asia and pork belly is cheap af, thought it might be cheaper and healthier to make my own rather than getting imported shit

Anyone got a good method for it, or is it literally just rubbing salt into the meat and leaving it in the fridge for a few days?
