Like most fast food places in the US, it's heavily dependent on how the franchisee runs the location. Even though the clown is generally far more consistent throughout the country, there are still good and bad ones that stand out, and the good ones are really, really nice. I've had some food from a well managed macdoandals that rivaled some of the better burgers out there. I've also had some of the nastiest, greasiest, lukewarm and sad shit from a decrepit mcdonalds that I stopped at out of desperation because I was on a long fucking roadtrip in the middle of nowhere and didn't want to eat taquito rollers from the truckstop.
