Use a crock pot on high for 4 to 5 hours after browning the meat and then onions in a pan. If your water or broth is hot before you put it in the slow cooker it'll cook faster. It is impossible for your meat to be tough if you use a slow cooker.

I was thinking about making some honey garlic chicken in a slow cooker. But does /ck/ have any additional suggestions? I'd like to do a chicken recipe but i'm open to others.

Thoughts on slow cookers?

I know they have fallen out of vogue recently but they have their place. Im making a slow cooker bean and bacon soup for dinner tomorrow. Minimal effort tonight, there it on low when when I wake up tomorrow and its ready when im off work. Sure, there are better ways. But the conversation convenience is hard to beat.

why does this happen

What is the fucking point of these things? I have never, NEVER ate something out of one of these hell machines that wasn't either mushy and disgusting, or dry and tough as a leather boot.
