Retired professional drinker reporting in.
Half bottle a day is lightweight teir.
Back in active addiction, I was doing a fifth of Irish mist and a 12 pack or more in a day.
Can't do that very long without consequences.
Happily sober for 11 years now.
Be careful, anons. What were once comforts can quickly become nightmare level habits.

Never blind buy any booze.
Find an upscale tavern that specializes in high end booze.
Talk to the bartender, try and learn about which is which, try out samples (not all on one visit, of course.)
Develop your own taste as you start sampling and finding favorites. Be choosy, be discriminating when you do this.
Fact: Most expensive booze tastes like shit. Out of all the possibilities, I've found only a few favorites.
You don't have to spend big $$$ for good booze. None of my favorites go for more that $35-40 a bottle. Some much less.
