Same story, add a couple years. I was lucky in that the ER was able to save him in January. Cost a mint but being a bachelor in my own place with no other family in my city he was my bestie. I knew his time was short and I got to spend a lot of time saying goodbye. Part of that was thinking through what the next world might be like if we meet again. I like to think we'll go on psychedelic style intergalactic space adventures. Either way I'm really grateful for him and this has carried me through this time so far. I'm just four day or so into my loss but I'm doing ok. On topic, every meal sucks without him.

But I know for certain he'd want me to be happy and even to do better. So I'm working on his memory and then I'm working on fixing a bunch of shit I should have fixed when he was alive. Catharsis is a great thing. And if there is a God (which I personally don't doubt) then his spirit rests in part within mine. I'm going to take him with me wherever I go and conquer this world before I join him in the next.
