I lived two places like this in the past year and a half while in school. Finally said fuck it and got my own place and just ate the cost of living increase.

During the worse of the two, I lived with people like you are describing but maybe even worse. One guy got high twice and almost burned the house down making grilled cheese because he passed out with the stove on and the grilled cheese in the pan. Stuff was constantly ruined. Another guy continuously ate my left overs to the point where I took action.

I started making stuff and intentionally fucking with it because I knew he ate everyone's food and for some reason he loved mine more than average. I would make food and lace it with trusty ole laxatives knowing inside of a day he would devour an entire pan in one sitting. The week it mostly stopped was when I had him shitting his brains out one night and had gathered some EBT (food stamp) government aid applications. As he is praying to whatever god he believed in that his asshole will stop exploding I slid all the applications under the bathroom door and said 'if you can't afford your own food, this might help.' I had confronted him half a dozen times before this and it never stopped or even slowed until this point so I didn't really care. I think he was so embarrassed and his bowels hurt so bad that he didn't want to chance it after that.

I bite it off it is too long to slurp. I always feel like it is gross to have a bunch of food hanging out of my mouth. If it is short enough to slurp, I usually put my hand over my mouth and make sure not to slurp it to fast. No one likes having noodles flail wildly about and fling broth everywhere.
