Add these steps to make an Improved Whiskey Cocktail:

Apply 2 or 3 fine sprays (or rinse) of absinthe to your chilled cocktail goblet.

In a jigger (2 oz) measure, add 1 teaspoon of a good curacao or maraschino liqueur.

Fill to the top with the whiskey, so you now have a full jigger of liquor.

Optionally add a barspoon (1/2 teaspoon) of simple syrup, but it may be sweet enough from the liqueur alone.
