This is what unseasoned cast iron looks like. If it doesn't look like this, then it's seasoned, and soap won't strip it off.

Stainless steel can be just as nonstick as cast iron or actual nonstick pans if you give it a "temporary" seasoning. Just heat the pan up until it's quite hot, put a tiny bit of oil in, spread it around with a paper towel then wipe it out. It'll pretty much be nonstick until you wash it, even if you use it at a lower temperature after.

>much much much lighter (go hold one of these fat retard finex pans in a store , its a joke how heavy they are)
>rounded lip so you can pour from any direction
>stay cool handle

stargazer pans are the best pans you can get period.

dont buy lodge cast iron. The jews at the factory refuse to machine the surface so their shitty factory "seasoning" sticks better.

Buy stargazer or any other machined cast iron.

A smooth surface is ALWAYS better than a rough surface when cooking. Always

I have a lodge and its a gigantic piece of shit

I have no doubt that the old cast iron pans were the best you could buy. Because they machined them at the factory to be smooth.

But for some reason lodge found it a good idea to stop machining them and instead leaving them rough so their factory "seasoning" stuck better.

If you throw some butter into a new lodge pan and cook eggs with it you are going to have a terrible time. Mix bacon in with that and its a disaster.

If you buy cast iron machine it down yourself or buy a machined pan like stargazer

Stargazer is super based.

It’s machined down in the factory meaning you can actually get a non stick surface unlike lodge

Also every edge is beveled so you can pour from any direction

It’s the best cast iron and will last your entire life

>be lodge
>have a business on the verge of going out because nobody really wants old heavy pans
>suddenly reddit
>people want these pans again because muh sear muh heat retention
>lodge realizes people are retarded and will never season their pans
>lodge changes the molds to make the surface of the pans to be course so the factory seasoning sticks better
>they literally design a pan that will have food stick to it EVERY TIME unless you modify it with a grinder

Daily reminder to spend your money on a stargazer pan instead of a worthless piece of shit
