I do this when I'm having a bipolar episode on the extreme end, like I have all these emotions and I have to vent them and I don't want to hit my wife (somehow I'm married) or punch a wall so I hit myself in the head. It's followed by crippling sadness and suicidal thoughts. It goes on for a few days then goes away, then comes back every 1 or 2 months. Seriously considering suicide if this is going to happen 1-2 times monthly for the rest of my life.
