I used to go once a weekend to a fairly fancy café, first thing in the morning before any other customers showed up.

I've been living in my current city for 5 years.
As soon as I walk in to the Indian place, I can hear them filling up a pitcher of water for me. I don't even order anymore, just say hello.
There's a place I frequent for breakfast where I don't have to special order what I want anymore. If I order that dish they know how to modify it for me.
I'm leaving the country and realistically I'll never live here again. It's months away and I'm already pretty bummed about it.
