No but i like to make mine with a biscuit like crust on the bottom. Sometimes i top the mashed potatoes with cheese. Not often though.

African couscous is fun as hell to cook, and flavorful when spices or mixed with fine vegetables.

I find quinoa to be worthless and prefer various beans however. There's so much shit that can be done with vegetables. Meat can be cooked in ways that people no longer do because it is a hassle, but vegetables are more utilitarian.

I'm a dairy-fiend myself but I try to include 6 oz of some form of meat because I believe connective tissues provide a unique property in repairing the nervous system. Been a long time since I last looked at it.

Everything so far is good advise.
But what are your intentions with said frying pan?
For deep frying, cast iron is the way to go. If you cook a lot of eggs, a non stick pan is very handy and can be pretty cheap. Some people however prefer cast iron for eggs and leave out the non stick. From what i have seen on ck a lot of other people have a hard time maintaining a cast iron skillet.
Personally i like stainless steel. No special treatment, can cook anything and is easy to clean. Just make sure it has a thicc bottom and no plastic handles.
