I specifically said the Mediterranean at the end but it seems you still didnt understand. In terms of historical significance and conncections, Egypt is much more of a "European" country than an "African" country.
In the same way Russia despite being a part of continental Asia is not really Asian.
Egypt may have had risen loaves but the straw hut tribes down further south In Africa did not.
