These aren't exactly unique, but Montréal has its own weird way with hot dogs that I've always found more interesting than the tourist-driven fascination with poutine --

Up top here we've got a Michigan dog -- a small hot dog served in a grilled bun covered in spicy tomato and beef heart sauce, topped with raw onions, cheese optional.

And below is a steamie -- boiled hotdog in a weird chewy steamed potato starch bun, topped with mustard and proprietary 'slaw, seasoning salt, and hot sauce if you're lucky.
