Everything in the image is trash, but the one thing that legitimately triggers me is the airplane bottle of fireball. I know a few people who buy those, and bust them out when they want to be "fancy", or "entertain". Less than 20 years ago people would dole out a few rails if they wanted to hang out, and now it's a shot of 33% Big Red out of a plastic sippy cup.

My dad occasionally tried to cook Indian, Chinese, and Thai food at home when I was little, and every time I asked him why it doesn't taste as good as the Indian/Chinese/Thai restaurant, his answer was always something along the lines of, "they use the same pans and reuse the same oil for everything, so it's impossible to recreate at home". I've never worked at any "ethnic" restaurants, but there's actually a tiny bit of truth to that (and I hate my dad every time I recognize something autistic he does in myself). But honestly, Laoganma is like a cheat code for Chinese food. It's like a secret ingredient that immediately adds a backbone to almost anything. Just remember that it's not hot sauce; it's chili oil. As in, oil. As in, one of the most calorically dense food items in existence. It's great on rice and eggs, and pretty much anything you'd add hot sauce to, except its oil based instead of the usual vinegar.

Vodka smells less than other things, but if you really drink, what people are going to smell is the ethanol emanating from your pores, not whatever flavor is on your breath. I can stop drinking an hour before going into work, take a shower, brush my teeth, but as soon as I show up and start sweating I just smell like a vodka sauna.

I'm in the same boat, OP, but holy shit I'm jelly of your set-up. I picked up more new knives than I need, and some good whetstones, along with a couple new pans - but I blew most of it on alcohol and stupid shit like movies and vidya, which I'm usually too old and too drunk to even enjoy anymore. Now I'm back on the line full time and look around my house and wonder what I did with the gift that was given to me. Obviously I wasn't going to buy a professional range, custom stainless steal counter-tops, or a fucking robot coupe, but still.
