All op asked for was a term to describe cooking stuff in a dutch oven-esque pot in the oven. He never said ANYTHING about searing the meat first or not. PLEASE learn to deduce these things before flapping your hammy little pie holes.

Also, aside from bread what do you cook in a dutch oven in the oven that isn't braising? I guess you could do a stew as well, but braising is SPECIFICALLY SEALED. OP said NO direct heat from the oven.
