not in my opinion, i actually only bought the 15y once and decided never again (maybe i got a bad bottle but it tasted like nail polish remover)
El Dorado makes a bunch of different rums so the 15 years is not actually the same recipe as the 12 year.
The 8 year is pretty good for a cheap rum, its a lot like the 12y but very dry and not sweet at all
