Japanese whiskey has been modeled after British whiskey for 100 years. That is tradition. Japanese whiskey is still stuck in that frame.
I also think that is a weakness of Japanese whiskey.
And for the same price range, Scotch and Bourbon are better than Japanese whiskey.
