Also you don't know the first thing about animal husbandry, crop agriculture, or soil health. What do you think livestock ate before grain subsidies and industrial crop farming and massive mechanized gas guzzling tractors, sprayers, and combines?

Cows are ruminants, even in an industrial setting they are only grain finished in order to be quickly fattened up for the last few months of their lives, because too much silage can burn a hole in their gut. They are optimized to eat grass.
